Colleen has been promoted to Director of Research and Innovation at FBR. She previously served as the Autism Coordinator for the FBR Latrobe and Somerset Offices, and also provided interim support to our Bedford Office. She has nine years of experience working in the Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Service (BHRS) System. In addition to her extensive experience in “wraparound” as a Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS), Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC), Mobile Therapist (MT) and a clinical manager, she also has previous experience conducting strength based psychological evaluations for children and adolescents who embody various mental health diagnoses. Colleen is currently pursuing her doctorate in counselor education and supervision. Colleen has extensive experience collaboratively conducting needs assessments and developing strength-based, objective goals and child specific programs grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis. Colleen is experienced and comfortable with utilizing a variety of approaches and modalities (i.e. Applied Verbal Behavior, Lovaas Discrete Trial, Floortime, Social Skills Activities, etc.) to ensure programs are child-specific yet behaviorally based. She has participated in program and training development across the agency, leading the Autism Team’s subcommittee in redeveloping our training curriculum for staff to ensure quality and commitment to evidence-based practice. In addition to providing treatment to consumers, she also facilitates ABOARD support groups in Bedford and Somerset, taking special interest in providing sibling support. She participates in and has organized fundraisers for the Walk Now for Autism Speaks, and serves on the Walk Planning Committee for the Laurel Highlands satellite walk. She is also a previous member of the Greater Pittsburgh Walk Planning Committee as the Co-Chair for School Teams. Colleen and her family reside in Westmoreland County. WHY FBR? “For the past two years, I have been honored to work for a company that never loses focus of why we choose to come to work every day…the children and the families we service. A company dedicated to ensuring that every individual is provided the highest quality of services. I am proud to be part of a company that has created an environment where excellence is fostered, modeled and expected by all staff, for all consumers. . . and where nothing less than excellence is accepted.”
