Leslie Kast, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Kast is one of the several members of FBR’s evaluating team. She travels to multiple FBR offices conducting psychological evaluations on children and families that are as diverse in their diagnoses as they are in their need for services.  As of summer 2010, we are proud to announce the licensure of Dr. Kast.

Joining the evaluating team in 2007, she is responsible for conducting thorough strength-based evaluations on children and families who are initially seeking help and for those who are returning for reevaluations. She works in direct collaboration with Dr. Melissa Diorio, regularly consults with other evaluating team members, and our Psychological Services Department.

After graduating from West Virginia University, Dr. Kast attended graduate school at Argosy University/Georgia School of Professional Psychology. She performed her doctoral internship at The Watson Institute in Sewickley, PA. There she also conducted psychological evaluations and neuropsychological evaluations, performed group therapy, participated in their BHRS program and in supervision as well as didactic trainings. She defended her doctoral dissertation in April of 2009 earning her Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) and now has her licensure in clinical psychology. She has a history of working with a range of populations and disabilities, focusing on children and families with in the outpatient setting, BHRS, residential treatment, and psychiatric hospitals.

In addition to evaluations, Dr. Kast participates in Interagency Service Plan Team meetings, insurance reviews of consumers, and consults with other involved agencies related to specific cases. She has also participates in fundraising activities, such as Walk Now for Autism Speaks.

Leslie, her husband and two children reside in Butler County.

WHY FBR?

“I feel privileged to meet and interact with each and every family that comes to FBR for an evaluation. I feel it is my responsibility to not only evaluate for medically necessary services, but help families to open doors for their children. FBR is unique in the way that the therapists are held to a high standard in their therapeutic roles and attendance to evaluations. As an agency, FBR strives to serve consumers across the lifespan having clients from the very young and most recently expanding our services to the adult population. I look forward to being a part of this growth. When evaluating in any of FBR’s given offices, I feel a part of a larger cause, a team effort to ensure research-based assessment and treatment for children and their families. I am truly blessed to be a part of the FBR team.”
