Dr. Diorio is one of the several members of FBR’s evaluating team. She travels to multiple FBR offices conducting psychological evaluations on children and families that are as diverse in their diagnoses as they are in their need for services. Joining the evaluating team in 2010, she is responsible for conducting thorough strength-based evaluations on children and families who are initially seeking help and for those who are returning for reevaluations. In addition to evaluations, Dr. Diorio participates in Interagency Service Plan Team meetings, insurance reviews of consumers, and consults with other involved agencies related to specific cases.

After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Diorio attended graduate school at Indiana University of PA.   While obtaining her Master’s Degree, she worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support.  After obtaining this degree, she continued to be employed within the BHRS program providing Behavioral Specialist Consultation and Mobile Therapy.  She continued to be employed in these positions while beginning her Doctoral studies.  Through her practicum experiences, she conducted BHRS evaluations, individual therapy, group therapy, family and couples therapy, neuropsychological evaluations, psychological evaluations, and court-ordered child custody evaluation.  Additionally, she taught the required class, “Children in the Middle”, to educate parents who were involved in custody disputes.  She performed her doctoral internship at Torrance State Hospital in Torrance, PA.  There she conducted psychological evaluations and neuropsychological evaluations, performed group therapy, performed individual therapy, and participated in supervision as well as didactic trainings. She defended her doctoral dissertation and earned her Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) in August of 2007.  Her post-doctoral hours were completed in a community mental health center where she conducted individual therapy, family and couples therapy, BHRS evaluations, Strength-Based evaluations, Family-Based evaluations, psychological evaluations, and neuropsychological evaluations.  She was licensed as a psychologist in the state of PA in August of 2009.  She maintains professional memberships in the American Psychological Association and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.  She is also an approved provider for many insurance plans.

Melissa, her husband and two children reside in Westmoreland County.
