Susan Paul, LSW, Corporate Director of Behavioral Health Services

Susan (or “Suzie” as she as known throughout FBR) joined FBR in 2003, and serves as the Corporate Director of Behavioral Health Services. Originally servicing consumers as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant and Mobile Therapist, Suzie was promoted to the Clinical Supervisor of the Monroeville Office in June 2005. Even before stepping into her new role on the Senior Management Team as a Senior Clinical Supervisor, Suzie has always shown initiative with training development and mentoring of her peers as well as her staff in Monroeville. Her stellar leadership skills led her to a position on the Corporate Team.

She was the driving force behind the development of FBR’s Child Abuse Prevention Committee, which provides a high level of support to staff and families throughout the company. For her clinical excellence and passion, Suzie was selected as FBR’s first ever Outstanding Achiever in Leadership in September 2008. As a leader of the BHRS Clinical Team, Suzie serves as a mentor for new Clinical Supervisors, and has developed several new trainings including topics of values, ethics and boundaries; managing high-risk situations; and child abuse procedures.

Until its unfortunate closing in 2008, Suzie served as the Program Director for the “Our Time” Respite Program at the Center for Creative Play. Before coming to our agency, Suzie served as Residential Director and Clinical Coordinator of a Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) Program, Evaluator Clinician, Crisis Intervention Specialist, Intake Coordinator, Research Assistant, and a Therapeutic Staff Support. Out of all of the roles she has held over the past 15 years, she considers her most “profound, rewarding, and challenging role” as being the proud aunt of her dear nephew who has autism. She feels it has helped her to grow as a therapist, manager and leader to “be on the other side of the table.” Suzie is committed to strength-based and solution-focused care of the highest integrity.

Suzie resides in Allegheny County.

 WHY FBR?

“To touch the lives of our children and their families is an awesome responsibility and one that is never taken lightly.  I am a better person for having worked here at FBR, for having the opportunity to work with the courageous individuals who are recipients of our services, for having the opportunity to motivate and support our skilled clinicians, and for having the opportunity to grow as a professional in a company whose primary mission is to have integrity and passion for children and families.”
